TECHNO HISTORY
This animated exploration critically engages with the often-overlooked narratives within techno history, focusing on Kelli Hand (K-Hand), a pioneering female techno DJ. I challenged traditional methods in this project by diving into animation and experimenting with typography.
Inspired by the vibrant aesthetics of 80s and 90s rave posters and album covers, I chose a color palette and design elements that reflect this energetic era. The typefaces used are crafted by Black, Latino, and queer designers, who played a crucial role in shaping the techno movement. This project highlights K-Hand's significant impact on the genre and serves as a typographic and visual tribute to the diverse roots of techno.
